FAQ
Why iCloud instead of a folder of files?
A cooking log is structured: a dish, many ingredient lines, steps, a rating, and a result. A database syncs those pieces without merging two edited text files by hand. Export still gives you Markdown, JSON, and CSV when you want a file.
Does sync require Premium?
No. iCloud sync, unlimited records, categories, ratings, and photos are free. Premium is only export.
What if I am not signed into iCloud?
The app still saves on this device and says so in Settings. Sign in, then leave the app open on a network for a while.
What does success rate count?
Success divided by every record. “Needs work” and “Failed” are not successes. The rating is separate, from 1 to 5.
Can I hide a built-in category?
Yes, in Categories. Dishes already in it keep that category. New dishes use the categories you still see.
I bought Premium on my iPhone. Where is it on my Mac?
Settings → Restore Purchases, with the same Apple ID. The iPhone and Mac apps share the bundle ID com.qzmtree.cookinglog.
